SONG PORTRAITS
Richard Gray’s Song Portraits We start with an interview where I will share some of my philosophy about good songwriting, explain the process and gather information on the subject of your Song Portrait. From there, I come up with a first draft for a lyric. Once we mutually agree on the final lyric, I proceed to put those words to music. There are three basic packages: STANDARD PACKAGE: This package includes the initial interview, lyric approval and a handwritten signed copy of the lyrics for your original song portrait. This package also includes one public performance of the song (piano/vocal by Richard Gray) at your special occasion. Unlimited personal use of the song. DELUXE PACKAGE: This package includes everything from the Standard Package with the addition of a studio-quality CD recording (piano/vocal) of the song and a signed, hand-written front page of the sheet music. You are allowed unlimited personal use of the recording (i.e. to send it out with your holiday cards, make copies on CD for your party guests). PREMIUM PACKAGE: This includes all of the elements of the Deluxe Package plus a professional copy of the sheet music, the addition of bass and drums to the studio recording…and a special invitation for you and up to six guests to attend the live recording session (with a champagne reception) at GlennSound recording studios in downtown Seattle. “Every person has a story and within every person’s story …there’s a song.”
-Richard Gray What better way to honor someone than with an original song that joyously captures their essence. Perhaps it is a favorite quote -- or a life-changing moment -- that becomes the initial inspiration for the lyric. Who knows? But when the song is unveiled at your special event…well, let's just say it will be a moment you will never forget. For more than 20 years, RICHARD GRAY has contributed to Seattle’s vibrant professional theatre scene as a composer, director and performer.
