SEPTEMBER 28, 2009 - COCKTAIL NUTS at ACT Theatre
The first of what is to become a monthly series of Monday night cabaret evenings spotlighting the best of Seattle musical theater hosted by Richard Gray featured musical programs by Anne Allgood, Jessica Skerritt, "Nightclub Gentlemen" and Anthony Fedorov with appearances by Bill Robison and Myrna Conn. APRIL 23, 2009 - SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE at the 5th Avenue Theatre
Richard plays the dual roles of "Mr." and "Charles Redmond" in 5th Avenue Theatre's production of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE. Directed by Sam Buntrock, this innovative production features a dazzling Tony-nominated design with the original 1984 full orchestration (conducted by Ian Eisendrath) and starring Hugh Panaro and Billie Wildrick. A must see!
MARCH 12, 2009 - Opening night of HELLO DOLLY at the 5th Avenue Theatre
Richard played the role of "Rudolph" (headwaiter at the Harmonia Gardens) in 5th Avenue Theatre's new production of HELLO DOLLY starring Jennifer Lewis and "Almost Live" star Pat Cashman.
FEBRUARY 6, 2009 - Musical Courses w/ Richard Gray & Lisa Dupar
Move over Butcher Block - the piano is rolling into the Redmond night kitchen! Lisa Dupar and Richard Gray paired his original music “courses” with her lyrical dishes to inspire quite a fun night of kitchen entertainment. JANUARY 24-25, 2009 - SHOWTUNES! A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE
Rich will be playing "Alfie Byrne" in A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE, directed by Frances Leah King at the Kirkland Performing Arts Center as part of Showtunes Theatre Company's 4th season. Based on the film starring Albert Finney, it tells the story of Alfie Byrne, a bus driver living in 1960's Dublin. A passionate Oscar Wilde fan, Alfie is determined to stage a version of Wilde’s Salome at his church, despite the objections of church authorities. In the process of fighting for the play, Alfie is finally forced to confront his homosexuality and take his place in the world. For more information visit www.showtunestheatre.org
JANUARY 10-12, 2009 - RODGERS &... at the 92Y in NYC
Rich was a featured vocalist in a musical tribute to Richard Rodgers and his many collaborators hosted by Martin Charnin. RODGERS AND... played at the 92nd ST Y in NYC for five performances as part of the "Lyrics & Lyricists" series. Other performers included Shelly Burch, Hugh Panaro, Alton White and Michelle Liu Coughlin.
